Our Island Picnics are the perfect way to spend the afternoon on Lord Howe Island, especially paired with a cheeky bottle of champagne! Picnics begin at either 3pm or 4:30pm depending on the time of year – see the ‘Picnic Information’ section below.

Picnic Information

Our Island Picnics include:

A deluxe antipasto grazing platter including fine cheeses, homemade dips, speciality crackers, fresh seasonal fruit and other yummy treats.
A low picnic table set up including beautiful crockery, cutlery, napkins and glassware.
Entire picnic styling with cushions, rugs and decorative props.
A jug of lemon infused Lord Howe Island rainwater.
Use of your picnic set up till sunset.
Set up, pack up and clean up of the entire picnic.
Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available

Additional items available for purchase:

A selection of champagne, wine, craft beer and soft drink

Island Picnic start times:

4:30pm between 1st November and 30th March
3pm between 1st April and 31st October

The physical location of your picnic is confirmed via email the day before your booking. We are happy to take location requests, however the final location is selected by Love Lord Howe based on the forecasted wind direction on the day. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

Love Lord Howe must obtain the lead guest’s date of birth as a liquor licencing requirement. The lead guest will be asked for identification on arrival at the picnic.

Please advise your lodge host Love Lord Howe may be setting up a picnic in your room in the event of wet weather, or expected wet weather.

Not available in an easterly wind. Love Lord Howe will contact you the day before to confirm an alternative location if an easterly wind is forecast.

Please advise us of your wet weather location as soon as possible so we can confirm it is suitable for one of our picnics.

How will you get to your picnic?*

There are only six hire cars on Lord Howe Island, please book your now by calling Wilson’s Hire on 02 6563 2045 to avoid disappointment

Do any of your group members have mobility issues which would prevent them from walking on uneven ground/sand or using a low picnic table? Our picnic tables are approximately 75cm tall.

*A limited amount of council owned standard picnic tables may be available at your location. Contact us for more information.
