About Love Lord Howe
Love Lord Howe ABN 33 430 264 343 operates as a babysitting referral service, a on demand baking service and a picnic and platter delivery business on Lord Howe Island. This document contains the terms and conditions of our services in regard to the picnic and platter delivery portion of the business. The terms and conditions in relation to our babysitting referral service or our on demand baking service can be supplied on request.
Love Lord Howe supplies picnics and platters on Lord Howe Island. Our directors hold Food Safety Supervisor Certificates and all food handlers have been trained in safe food preparation.
Love Lord Howe also makes a small range of island gifts which are also available for purchase via our website.
By making a picnic or platter delivery booking with Love Lord Howe via our website or via email, you agree to the terms and conditions in this document.User responsibility
By booking a picnic or platter delivery with Love Lord Howe, you agree to the following:
- Dietary and allergy disclosureCustomers must disclose any known allergies and dietary requirements prior to payment.
Love Lord Howe produces a variety of platters and other food products which can include, but are not limited to containing allergens such as gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts and seeds.
Due to the varying food products used on our platters, ingredients are not listed on our website. Please contact us if you have specific dietary and allergy requirements prior to placing an order. - Re-sale of items purchased from Love Lord HoweAny items made or created by us cannot be re-sold without the expressed written permission of Love Lord Howe.

2. Orders and payment policy
Island picnics and platters can be booked either directly on our website or via email. If you have a special request, or require specific ingredients, please contact us via email to make your order.
Love Lord Howe highly recommends guests book at least two weeks in advance to secure their preferred date and time for either a island picnic or platter delivery.
Website bookings and payments
Love Lord Howe accepts bookings for Island Picnics up to 8pm the evening prior to your selected day. We accept a maximum of two Island Picnic bookings per day.
Love Lord Howe accepts bookings for platters up to 11am for same day delivery. We accept a maximum of ten platters per day.
The food provided on of our platters is listed on our website. The food cannot be altered or substituted in any way if you book directly online. If you have any alterations or requests, please contact us via email to book. This is because Love Lord Howe cannot guarantee the availability of any alteration requests due to our remote location and limited local supplies.
Email bookings and payments
Any alterations to a platter or any special order requests must be done via email. Any alterations or any special requests are NOT guaranteed. This is for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to the availability of ingredients and time constraints.
If an order containing an alteration to our standard platters is received via email, and Love Lord Howe is able to fulfill it, we will send you an invoice for payment. This invoice must be paid within 48 hours of issue to guarantee your platter alteration or special order.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. As per ACCC conditions, all gift vouchers have a three year expiry from the date of issue.
Gift vouchers can only be redeemed for the product or service they have been purchased for. Love Lord Howe may consider simple alterations to the product or service, however this is at the discretion of Love Lord Howe and is NOT guaranteed.
Please contact us via email to discuss a gift voucher product or service alteration should it be required.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
If you wish to cancel your picnic or platter booking
No refunds are offered for cancellations due to wet weather.
During wet weather, platters will be dropped to your lodge or can be dropped to Ned’s Beach Shed on request.
Love Lord Howe will endeavour to reschedule Island Picnics to an alternative day during your stay, however this is NOT guaranteed due to booking availability and time constraints. As part of our booking process, you are required to advise us where you would like us to set up your island picnic during wet weather if we are unable to re-schedule your picnic.
Should you wish to cancel your picnic or platter for another reason, the following cancellation policy applies:
Outside 14 days from your picnic:
If you wish to cancel, we will issue a full refund minus a $10 service fee, plus costs of any speciality items already purchased for your individual booking.Between 7 to 14 days from your picnic:
If you wish to cancel, 50% of your pre-payment is forfeited. We will refund the amount for any unused alcohol/soft drink purchases.Within 7 days of your picnic:
100% of your picnic pre-payment is forfeited. We will refund the amount paid for any unused alcohol/soft drink purchases. This is because our catering supplies are ordered in from the mainland via our fortnightly freight ship and may spoil if not used. We also may have turned away other picnic bookings in order to confirm your particular time and date.Please note: All ingredients required for your order can only be shipped to the island fortnightly, hence our 2 week cancellation notice requirement.
If Love Lord Howe cancels your booking.
Love Lord Howe is a small family business. We will always endeavour to fulfil bookings, however there may be instances where by circumstances outside of our control we are unable to, such as a family emergency.
In the highly unlikely event that Love Lord Howe is unable to fulfil you booking, we will fully refund any monies paid via your original form of payment. You will be required to provide your bank account details if you originally paid via direct credit.
4. Covid-19 Policy
Your platter makers, picnic set up people and delivery persons practice Covid-19 safety principles such as:
- Advising if they are unwell prior to working
- Mask wearing (when required to do so as advised by NSW Health)
- Handwashing
- Social distancing
For your added comfort, Love Lord Howe also offers contactless delivery if requested.
Personal Information and Privacy Policy
Love Lord Howe collects personal information in order to fulfil picnic bookings and platter deliveries.
The type of personal information we may collect includes:
- Your contact information such as your name, phone number and email address.
- Your food allergy and/or dietary requirements.
- Information regarding your stay on Lord Howe Island, such as your arrival and departure dates and your accommodation provider.
- Your bank account BSB and account number to issue a refund, if you originally paid via direct credit.
We do not collect:
- Credit card data. All credit card information is entered securely through our payment gateway provider. We do not store credit card information.
Love Lord Howe strives to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of all information collected via our website. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. However, Love Lord Howe will take reasonable steps to protect all personal information provided to us.
