Join us for a captivating space journey led by an Astrophysicist on World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island.
Welcome Aboard!
Astrophysicist Dimitri Douchin, PhD and his partner Caroline from Blue Mountains Stargazing will lead your 90 minute voyage through space.
Their journey will include:
Naked-eye Astronomy, tips and hacks on how to identify stars and constellation storytelling, introduction to the celestial dance of planets, satellites, navigation, the Universe, our home Galaxy and beyond...
You will then observe through the professional-grade telescope objects such as (depending on the night):
- The Moon and its craters and seas
- Saturn’s rings
- The moons of Jupiter
- Mars & Venus
- The Orion Nebula
- Star clusters
- Double & triple stars
- Deep space objects such as galaxies and our fabulous Milky Way
- Shooting stars if you are lucky!
Your expert guide, Dr Dimitri Douchin will delve into the study of every object and answer all your questions.

Our preferred stargazing location is Signal Point/Flagstaff in the Lord Howe main town area. However, this may change depending on the weather, wind direction and cloud cover. If a location change is made, all guests will be emailed the new location at 3pm on the day of the tour.
